Call 0333 360 8691Occasionally, using the manufacturer's portable lead on a sound circuit, but it is not ideal for regular use. Charging draws a heavy current for many hours, which can overheat worn sockets and older wiring. During a board change we can test the socket and its circuit and tell you whether it is fit for occasional charging.
It can. Many homes have a PME earth from the network, and the wiring regulations set extra requirements for charging a car outdoors on that kind of supply. Most modern chargers include protection that deals with this; otherwise an earth rod may be used. We check your earthing during the board change and note it for your charger installer.
Not if the circuit and supply are designed for it. Given its own properly sized circuit and a board with suitable protection, a charger should happily run alongside everything else in the house. Many chargers can also reduce their draw automatically when the house is busy. We check the main fuse and tails first to be sure.
