Fuse Box Replacement in Parham
Home to the Elizabethan Parham House and its park, the small village of Parham is a short drive west of Storrington. There are not many homes, most of them older and some rented out, and when one needs a new board we agree the price first, then test and certify every circuit.

Estate cottages and village houses
Parham is not a village of streets. Its homes are scattered, some of them older cottages and houses linked to the estate, with walls and layouts that predate modern wiring by a long way. Electrical work in buildings like these has usually been updated in stages, so the board is often the newest part of a much older installation.
Our test results show what that older installation is really like. Where the wiring passes, bringing it up to date costs from £425 with a dual RCD board, or from £625 if every circuit gets its own RCBO. If something needs attention, we explain the priority and the cost in plain terms.
- Stage by stage wiring assessed
- Insulation resistance tested
- Priorities explained plainly
- Fixed price agreed first

When the home is rented, the rules change
Landlords letting privately in England have to get the electrical installation inspected and tested no less often than every five years, hand the tenant a copy of the report, and fix anything it marks as needing urgent or further attention. A fuse box lacking RCD protection is a typical reason for a report to raise concerns.
We can carry out the EICR, replace the board and issue the paperwork in one visit. The EICR is £99 when booked with a new board, or £175 to £350 on its own. Tenants are welcome to stay in, and we settle the timing with them so the supply is down for as short a spell as we can manage.
- Five yearly EICR covered
- Report copy for the tenant
- Remedial work in one visit
- EICR £99 with a board
On the road to Parham
Our usual way in from Brighton is west along the A27 to Worthing, north on the A24 past Findon to Washington, then along the A283 through Storrington to the village. Travel costs nothing extra. Agents and landlords can book with a few photos by text, and when a tenant has no power at all, we aim to be there on the day they call.

Asked in Parham
Call for a straight answer from an installer, not a call centre.
Call 0333 360 8691Not because of its age alone. The report records safety defects, so what matters is the condition of the board and whether circuits have the protection they need. Older boards often lack RCD protection, and in some situations that leads to a code requiring action. Booking a board change alongside the EICR brings the report down to £99.
Yes, and most tenants prefer to be. The power is off while the board is changed and tested, so we agree a day and a start time with them beforehand. We keep the work area tidy and clear up as we go, and the supply is back on once testing is complete.
We email the Electrical Installation Certificate within 48 hours to whoever booked the work, whether landlord or agent, and can copy in the tenant. Because the work falls under Part P, we also notify Building Control, which gives you a compliance record to file with the property's papers for future lettings or a sale.
